Custom A Fable for Tomorrow essay paper
In the essay, “A Fable for Tomorrow,”the author tries to enlighten the public over the changes that they would experience if they continued to use chemicals. A clear difference between the initial land that was full of life and serenity is replaced by death and hopelessness. The author, very intelligently and expertly, passes scientific information in a language that is easily understood by anyone who comes across the article. Some of the contrasts between the initial time and the time after the epidemic are discussed in this essay.
First, there is contrast in the times that the events occurred. The lively green fields and roadsides were there some time when the first settlers arrived there. It was after some time that the same streets and fields became bare and unattractive. These were results after the people had tampered with the initial land composition. These are two contrasting periods in the history of the city in America.
The second contrast is the liveliness of the city before and after the damage had been inflicted by the people. The author uses very strong words to explain how serene and beautiful the land was before people destroyed it. There were prosperous farms as well as grain fields and hillsides that were covered by orchards. There were great ferns and other wild flowers that captured the eyes of any traveler for most of the year including winter. Streams full of fish made the appearance of the land impeccable. In contrast, after the damage that the people had inflicted on the land, all the life seemed to have gone away. The once beautiful green roadsides throughout the year had changed to become brown as the beautiful vegetation started to die. Everyone thought that a disease had stricken.
Before the epidemic, the author says that “life was in harmony with its surroundings.” Birds, fish, people and all the other living creatures enjoyed the natural atmosphere. After the epidemic, birds died or migrated, hence brooded but never hatched any chicks; the orchards were no longer fruitful, because there were no bees and, generally, the life that was in harmony with the surroundings was gone.
There were deaths and new diseases that were reported every day after the pandemic had struck. Contrary to the initial setting of the city where people lived with birds, fishes and many plants in harmony, death was everywhere since the animals as well as people continued to die quickly and mysteriously.
The only comparison we can take from the article is that we are talking of the same location, same paths and same people in the whole article.
