More often than not, we are filled with anger and get annoyed due to various reasons. Anger is usually health and normal part of human emotion. However in some cases anger might get beyond our control hence becoming destructive, this may result into problems in one’s relationship, work place and all aspects of one’s life including its quality. At times anger might make one to feel to be under the control of unpredictable and strong emotion. Anger can be looked at as a feeling typify by enmity towards something or someone one feels has done something wrong deliberately. This feeling can be of benefit and can give one a means of expressing negative emotions e.g. can enable find solutions to problems through motivation. But the level of anger is excessive, it might result in problems. For example the physiological and physical change that takes in an individual’s body as a result of stress and the rise in the pressure of blood might inhibit one’s normal thinking and also lead into negative mental and physical impacts. Naturally most people will express to anger by aggressive response. This is due to the fact that anger is an inborn response for adaptation to danger or threats; inducing strong, most aggressive, behavior and feelings which enables one to defend and fight off a aggressors or offenders. For an individual’s survival, some amount of anger is essential.
Individuals employ a variety of unconscious and conscious mechanisms to deal with anger that their angry emotions. The main mechanisms are calming, expressing and suppressing. The best way for one to express anger is through expression of the angry emotions in an assertive manner as opposed to aggressive manner. Hence one has to learn the art of making clear what entails their needs and how to make sure they are met without harming others. By one being assertive it does not mean being demanding or pushy, it means respecting yourself and others (APA, 2010)
It is possible for anger to be suppressed before redirection. This is common when one holds in his/her angry feelings, avoid thinking about it and thinking on positive things. The main aim of this is to suppress the anger and redirect it into positive use or constructive behavior. The danger with this approach is that if not allowed through outward expression, this kind of anger can turn into the bearer him/herself. This may result into complications like depression and hypertension.
If anger is not expressed, it could lead to other problems. Pathological ways of showing or expressing anger, for example perpetually hostile and cynical personalities or passive-aggressive traits or behaviors emanate from failures in anger expression.
Another way is calming down. This means that one controls both internal and external responses. This enables angry feelings to reduce.

In simple words this refers to one changing his/her thinking perspective. When angry people tend to resort to swearing, curse and using terms that are colorful that mirror their inner thoughts.
