Social problems are the major cause of inequality in different organizations, institutions and countries. Social problems exist in all the organizations ranging from educational institutions, places of work, games and families. In the educational institutions, for instance, some schools tend to favor a specific group of individual barring the minorities from obtaining quality education.
Gender discrimination plays a big role in denying female jobs in the employment sector since the males are considered more active than the females even though both attend the same colleges and universities. Racial discrimination, on one hand, envisages underrepresentation of black Americans in the employment sector. Unemployment results into the increase in the crime rates in U.S. because the few learned members of the minority groups cannot secure employment due to discrimination. Surprisingly enough, discrimination is also evident in sports. Therefore, social problems permeates shakes to the core all spheres of human life in the United States.
Social problem in the U.S. can be reduced by affirmative action so that the minorities can be represented in political, social and economic sectors. In terms of college admission, fixed number of admissions into the U.S. government schools should be reserved for the minorities. In the employment sector, employers should recruit employees based on the merits regardless of race, gender or nationality. Politics is not exceptional in minority representation. The government should enact laws that will ensure that the minorities ascend to higher positions in politics. In a nutshell, social problems put humanity at risk of never ending humanitarian crises.
