I was particularly impressed by the concert in general although the two presentations stood out to be the best according to my own analysis. These are “Le carnaval des animaux” and “Flower duet” by Anna Netrebko & Elina Garanca. These two had some of the best dynamics, tempos, and instrumental performance I have ever witnessed. Generally, the concert was colorful, and all the performances evoked a high degree of attentiveness on the part of audience.
Composition I Liked Best
Having being in a concert where Camille Saint-Saens’ compositions are performed, I have no doubt that this performance was the best. This piece of rendition was produced during the 1880s as a classical repertory and has since remained to be a hilarious zoological fantasy. One important fact that stands out in this piece of work is Camille’s ability to provide a fantastic impression of the animal world, which he does in a rather charming style. More so, in this work, he uses only the necessary instruments to display an impeccable music from his compact cast. I have never witnessed such brilliance before. In terms of general performance of the song at the concert, it entailed sophisticated instruments such as chamber group flute, a clarinet, two wonderful pianos, and glass harmonica among others. But these were the most vocal of all the instruments.
Introduction of the performance was really great where lions are carrying out with royal march accompanied by piano sounds. This is particularly characterized by a terrific tremolo accompanied by a stately theme. This kind of composition blending distinguishes Camilla from the rest of the concert played. When one listens carefully to the whole piece of work, he/she realizes how the strings are fundamentally used to provide the melody accompanied by the pianos more often in low run of octaves. Such kind of work is very difficult to do, but, in this piece of work, it has stood out.
The uniqueness of “Le carnaval des animaux” continues much more explicitly in the introduction of Hens and Roosters in the performance. When you listen to this part, you realize that the general theme and movement is reminiscent to that of the two birds when pecking at grain from the soil. For instance, close to the climax of this section, when a rooster matches along the arrows that were sophisticatedly created, you see all the hens running around the rooster. This is a perfect illustration of how the hens value the male rooster in most instances. In short, I have never thought that something like this could be performed in a song like what Camilla has done.
Performance of this Work
As was mentioned before, all the performances were great, but that of “Le carnaval des animaux” was unimaginable. I never thought that somebody could think of relating musical themes to animals and present them so well to illustrate how animals really behave. Actually, this performance was exceptional.
Generally, the performance was outstanding as I was entertained beyond imagination.
