What I Would Do Differently
If I was Joseph Thomas, I would put in place some form of motivation for the team members. Monetary incentives are always very effective when it comes to motivating the employees. I would increase the salary of the team members who finished their task effectively and efficiently on time. This will ensure that the team members are motivated toward achieving the set goals.
The second thing that I would consider doing is creating activities for team building. This will involve organizing a lunch for a given team to ensure that they relate well even outside the work environment. When workers relate well, they are likely to cooperate and work together to achieve the set goals.
Offer awards to the best team. This will motivate the others to work hard in order to get the awards. This is one of the most effective motivational tactics at the work place.
