This paper begins with an introduction that gives a brief comment about the potential of India. It asserts that India is a country with immeasurable potential and it is currently a sleeping giant. The introduction points out that India is in urgent need of authoritarian leadership that would help redeem it and help it compete with neighboring countries such as China. The significance of authoritarian leadership to India is also discussed in the introduction. The paper asserts that a firm hand will quicken the making of decisions in India hence promoting its economic development. It will enable all individuals within the country including the rich who have been living comfortably under democracy to take all the developmental issues seriously. Additionally, the paper points out that authoritarian leadership will help eliminate procrastinations in the economy. All individuals would be forced to take all the policies formulated seriously and perform them timely. Authoritarian leadership will help eliminate the religious divisions by reinforcing the law. The paper also points out that order is better than chaos. Order ensures that there is a smooth running of activities and innocent lives are preserved while chaos leads to preventable deaths among civilians. Thus, all countries around the globe are urged to ensure that there is order in case they will like to realize development. This paper also reports that failed states such as Somalia and Haiti stand a chance to benefit from authoritarian leadership. The countries are regarded as failed states because they lack stability and reasonable economic development. The paper points out that these countries would tremendously benefit from authoritarian leadership as it will help in the elimination of illegal groupings such as Al Shabaab that have caused chaos and destabilized the economy in Somalia. Lastly, the paper echoes the words in the question of President Lincoln on whether governments must be strong for the liberation of people. Failed states would benefit from such governments, as their citizens will be liberated from hunger and other sufferings.
India is a sleeping giant and urgently needs a firm hand in leadership, which will help in awakening it. Authoritarian leadership is the only principal resource that can be relied on to redeem India and make it realize its potential. It is evident that democracy has failed to make India realize its full potential and should; thus, be replaced with authoritarian leadership in case the country is to develop and compete with the neighboring countries such as China. A firm hand in leadership is vital because it will accelerate the process of decision making in relation to developmental issues and would eliminate procrastination of actions in the Indian economy hence promoting growth.
A firmer hand in India will help in faster decision-making pertaining to developmental issues. It will ensure that all individuals including the rich individuals who classify themselves in upper classes take all vital decisions relating to the country seriously. It must be noted that, under the democratic systems, most rich individuals are not adhering to tax laws hence retarding the development of India. With a firmer hand, such laws would be enforced faster and with the required level of authority leading to compliance. Religious divisions would be dealt with by introducing strict laws and faster decisions made to dealing with criminals involved. Other sectors such as education and healthcare sectors would also be revolutionized with the authoritarian decisions that are made quickly.
It would help eliminate procrastination in the Indian economy. With a firm hand in leadership, laws that eliminate procrastination of developmental matters would be instituted. A parent is not supposed to let his child stay at home instead of attending school. Democracy has been a luxury for the rich individuals as they while away time and postpone key developmental projects. With authoritarian leadership, individuals given different duties would not be allowed to push them forward but act as fast as possible. Thus, India will start realizing its hidden potential as economic and other developmental issues increase. Authoritarian leadership will ensure that lives of Indians improve enabling the country to compete with other economic strongholds such as China and Pakistan.
Order is far much better than chaos. Order ensures that all the affairs of a particular state run smoothly compared to chaos, which lead to unnecessary division in states. In addition, order ensures that there is amicable solution to different problems compared to the chaos that lead to brutal losses of lives among civilians.
Failed states such as Somalia and Haiti would significantly benefit from strong authoritarian leadership. Strong authoritarian leadership would help manage these countries better. It would ensure that illegal groups such as Al Shabaab in Somalia are dealt with without compromise. Authoritarian leadership will not allow illegal groups to operate in the country and would devote full efforts to fighting them until they are eliminated. The elimination of such groups through authoritarian leadership would ensure that there is peace that would be conducive for economic growth. It is clear that illegal groups like Al Shabaab have hindered the development of these failed states especially Somalia.
Strong authoritarian governments will be immensely beneficial to the failed states, as it would help in the liberation of individuals. This can be drawn from President Lincoln’s question on whether countries must be strong for the liberties of its people. Strong leadership in such countries will enforce the law appropriately hence giving no chance to groups that would want to interfere in the developmental processes. It will help liberate people from poverty and intimidation by outlawed groups. This is because authoritarian leadership will firmly articulate laws that are supposed to be adhered to by each individual. It will also articulate matters that need to be done by different organs of the state without compromise hence benefitting such countries in terms of economic development.
